RE: Local corporations use a unique, fun learning environment to build stronger, more creative teams.
Organizations of all types and sizes recognize that to continually improve, remain competitive, and thrive in today's dynamic, challenging business environment teamwork is essential! If you are looking for a fun, competitive, multi-tasking team building activity - look no further. At Lakeside Pottery in Stamford, CT teams of up to ten co-workers at a time are encouraged to face unfamiliar challenges where they can use their natural abilities to achieve defined goals. In order to be successful, each person must work as an integral part of their team. Learning to be a Potter in a well-equipped studio with a gallery housing objets dart created by other students and resident artists, necessitates enhanced communication skills and more effective problem solving ability. Even novices have been able to create works of art resulting in happier, more empathetic, creative and insightful employees. In the process of meeting six well-defined team goals, people gain insight into their colleagues behavior and thought processes. Participants have a great time learning the basics of wheel-thrown pottery and other techniques while getting to know each other from an entirely new perspective; resulting in stronger, more creative individuals who recognize the strengths and weaknesses of their coworkers. Hundreds of students and Potters have been trained since the school opened in February, 2002. The Owner, Morty Bachar, is a retired corporate executive who has made the decision to dedicate his efforts working with people from all socio-economic backgrounds, building their self-esteem while teaching them new creative skills. He and his team of professional, caring, patient instructors are engaged in community activities in addition to corporate team building. They provide beginners, intermediate and advanced pottery programs where people of all ages (from age 8 to seniors) learn to express themselves in the process of creating decorative and functional art from clay. Students who want to hone their skills, as well as seasoned artists, are also are encouraged to work on their own projects in an open studio. For more information, visit www.lakesidepottery.com
