Hello all,
Two events are taking place in the next few days - please see below but first,
I wanted to share Lakeside Pottery brief history and future plans:
What
Happened in Eight Months:
* Opened the doors on
Feb 26, 2002
* To date, we had over 450 students enroll in our programs in total
* 80% of our 8-week programs students were adults and 20% children
* Ages 8-15 summer camp program had almost 170 students
* Lakeside Pottery is now affiliated with Stamford Cont. Ed., Stamford
Recreation Department, Stamford JCC, Greenwich Cont. Ed., Darien Cont.
Ed., Westport Cont. Ed which all offer programs at Lakeside Pottery for their
communities
* Number of scholarship granted to children - over 20
* Number of free workshops given to schools and the public - 15
* Art Teachers actively involved in teaching at Lakeside Pottery - six
* Gift certificates for auctions ($300 value) given to local non-for-profit
organizations - eight
* Partnered with The Executive Resource Center in NY for conducting the management Team Building Programs using
Pottery as the medium
Future
Planes:
* Expand and
increase art programs offerings (as soon as the economy takes a new turn)
* Be heavily involved in the community and the education system
* Offer Management Team Building programs at Lakeside Pottery utilizing
clay as activity medium (already partnered with The Executive Resource Center
in NY)
* 15% of profit is / will go back to the community in a form of
scholarship, workshops and setting up pottery studios / programs in schools
* Consider opening a second location in a neighboring town (as soon as
the economy takes a new turn). Initiative already started.
Two

1) "Leading in the East Moderated by Fast Company
Magazine", a networking event where Lakeside Pottery is a sponsor and is launching a new
offering - "Corporate Team Leading Clay Workshops". Please come and see us.

featuring five talented panelists, including: COO of Priceline.com, originator of term "Generation Gap", author of "99% Inspiration," Connecticut State Representative, and President of RealEyes Communications, followed by CoolTea's mixed brew of
business networking and social fun (e.g., raffle table includes 20" TV,
DVD Player, 8-week Pottery Making Course - a $300 value, Ghirardelli Chocolate
Gift Basket, and Movie Passes)
* Sponsors: Handshake Sponsor, Lakeside Pottery, will be debuting their new offering Management
Pottery/Team Building Program complete with pottery wheel in motion
demonstration with Roger
Baumann
* Topic: Silicon Valley is technology. Detroit is automotive. Wisconsin
is cheese. Fairfield County is (fill-in blank) and/or what should we be known
for ..??.. come join Fast Company magazine's editors and their Fairfield County
Company of Friends for an evening forum discussion topped off with our mixed
brew of business networking
2) Raku Firing Workshop - OUTDOORS EVENT (click here for more info)
Date/Time: Sunday October 20th, 10 AM - 6:00 PM
Location: 220 West Trail, Stamford
Class is full but you are welcome to come and see what is Raku all about
and have some wine and cheese outdoors. Please call if you decide to
